Timber fence styles we build

Most Canterbury sections end up with one of a handful of styles. The right one depends on your budget, how much privacy you want, how exposed the site is to wind, and what the neighbours already have.

• Paling fence. The standard Kiwi boundary fence. Vertical palings fixed to rails, either butted, gapped or overlapped. Cost efficient while still easy on the eye.
• Slat or horizontal fence. Timber slats run horizontally with a consistent gap. The growing modern look.
• Batten fencing. Secure, solid and spacious all in one.
• Picket fence. Spaced and traditional. Good in front yards and around villas and character homes.
• Post and rail. Lifestyle blocks and rural boundaries.
• Lattice or trellis top. An extra 300-600mm of height and privacy without the solid wall of a full-height fence.
• Feature fences. Mixed materials, capping, lighting, planter integration - if you can describe it, we can build it.
